What an Ome.tv location finder actually is
A location finder (you’ll also see “geolocator” or “location script”) is a small piece of software that runs in your browser alongside Ome.tv. Every time the chat matches you with someone, it runs IP geolocation on the new connection and overlays the result right on the page, no tab-switching, no copy-pasting addresses around. How it works under the hood
- Ome.tv video is peer-to-peer: your browser and the stranger’s browser stream directly to each other, so your browser necessarily learns the connection’s address. That’s how WebRTC video works everywhere. It isn’t an Ome.tv quirk.
- The extension notices each new connection the moment it’s established.
- It runs the address through an IP geolocation and VPN detection lookup, the same technology behind any IP lookup.
- The result is drawn onto the chat as an overlay: flag, city, ISP and warning badges, live, for every match.
Because the lookup runs on information your browser already receives as part of the video call, the other side doesn’t need to install or do anything.
What you actually get
- Country and flag. Near-certain accuracy.
- Region and city. Solid estimates, not pins on houses; expect the right area, and read how accurate IP geolocation really is for the honest numbers.
- ISP name and reputation. Which provider the connection belongs to, plus community ISP ratings that flag ranges known for bots and spam.

Setting it up (about two minutes)
It is a browser extension. You install it once on a desktop computer and then it is simply there every time you open ome.tv:
- Log in on ome.undfnd.eu with Discord and verify on the server.
- Download the .zip from your dashboard and unzip it into a folder you will remember.
- Open your browser’s extensions page (⋮ menu → Extensions → Manage extensions), turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and pick that folder.

There is also a backup route for machines where you cannot install anything: copy the script from your dashboard and paste it into ome.tv yourself, which works but has to be repeated every time you open the page. The limits, and the line
Two honest caveats. First, accuracy: city-level means city-level: a location finder tells you where a connection enters the internet, not where a person stands, and even that reading is an inherited claim rather than a measurement (who decides where an IP address is). Second, purpose: this information is for your decisions: who to talk to, who to skip, whose story doesn’t add up.
