Getting started with OME.UNDFND on Ome.tv
From first login to a working overlay on Ome.tv. No experience needed, and nothing here assumes you know what a console is.

What it actually does
Before the setup, the thirty second version of what you are installing.

Somebody connects to you
You are on ome.tv as normal and a stranger comes up.

We look up their connection
Their video reaches you over a network address. We check which internet provider and which part of the world that address belongs to.

You see it on screen
Country, city, internet provider and a small map appear in a panel over the video, before you have said anything.
It describes a network, not a person
The location you see is where the internet connection is registered, which is usually the right city and sometimes the wrong one. It is never somebody's address. What the data really means covers this properly.
What you need before you start
A Discord account
That is your login here. There is no separate password to make.
A computer, not a phone
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi or Opera. Firefox and Safari do not work.
Ome.tv open in a tab
The overlay runs on the ome.tv page itself, alongside the site.
Using Brave? Change one setting first
Open Shields, the lion icon in the address bar, and set Block fingerprinting to Disabled. Brave scrambles the exact browser information our script reads, so with this on the overlay cannot start.
Sign in and get verified
Three clicks, and skipping the middle one is the most common reason a download or a script later refuses to work.

Sign in with Discord
On ome.undfnd.eu press Login and approve the Discord window. There is no separate password here, your Discord account is the account.

We read your username and which servers you are in. That is what tells us whether you are verified and whether you have VIP.

Get verified in Discord
Join the Discord server and react to the message in the #verify channel. It takes one click.

Until this is done the download and the script generator both refuse, and the refusal looks like a button that does nothing. If something is not working later, check this first.

Open your Dashboard
Reload ome.undfnd.eu and open the Dashboard. Everything below happens on the Script tab.

The Dashboard is also where you see how many lookups you have left and whether VIP is active.
Pick how you want to run it
There are two routes and they end in the same place. Almost everyone should take the first one. The second exists for computers where you are not allowed to install anything. This is not a userscript. It does not use Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey or Greasemonkey, and it is not the Greasyfork script of a similar name. It is a Manifest V3 browser extension that you load as an unpacked folder, on a desktop browser.
Install the browser extension
Set it up once. After that, open ome.tv and the overlay is simply there.

Download and unzip
Grab the .zip from your Dashboard and unzip it into a folder you will remember. Your Desktop is fine.

Right-click the file and choose Extract All on Windows, or double-click it on a Mac. Leave the folder where it is: deleting or moving it later switches the extension off.

Open your extensions page
In Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera: ⋮ menu → Extensions → Manage extensions. Then turn on Developer mode.

Developer mode is a switch in the top-right corner of that page. All it does is let you load an extension from a folder on your own computer instead of from a store. Nothing else about your browser changes, and you can turn it back off later without removing anything.

Load the folder
Click Load unpacked and pick the folder you just unzipped.

Pick the folder itself, not a file inside it. If the picker asks you for a manifest file, you have gone one level too deep. Go back up.

Sign in once, then forget about it
A setup page opens by itself. Sign in there and you are done. Your script builds and loads itself from then on.

Open ome.tv any time after this and the overlay appears on its own as soon as the page has loaded. Nothing to copy, nothing to paste, nothing to regenerate.
Paste the script yourself
Nothing gets installed. You copy a script and paste it into ome.tv each time, so it is the answer when you cannot install anything.

Generate the script
On the Dashboard Script tab, open the console lane and press Generate Script, then use the copy button. Do not select the text by hand, it is long and clipboard tools cut it.

The build is personalised to your account, scrambled so it cannot be read, and locked to ome.tv. On any other site it does nothing at all.

Open ome.tv in its own tab
Let the page finish loading before you do anything else. Pasting into a half-loaded page is a common reason the overlay never appears.

Open the developer console on that tab
Three ways in, listed below. Whichever you use, make sure you land on the tab labelled Console, not Elements, Sources or Network.

The console has to be opened on the ome.tv tab itself. Opening it on the Dashboard and pasting there does nothing, and it is the single most common version of "it did not work".

Paste and press Enter
Click into the empty line in the console, paste, and press Enter. The overlay appears within a few seconds.

The first time you ever use the console, Chrome refuses the paste and asks you to type
allow pastingand press Enter first. Do that once, then paste again. It is a Chrome safety prompt, not an error from us. - 5
Repeat it every time you reload
The console lane lasts as long as the tab does. Reload ome.tv or open it tomorrow and you paste again. This is the whole reason the extension exists.

Only for the paste route: three ways to open the console
If you installed the extension you can skip this whole section. If you are pasting the script, this is the part people get stuck on, so here is every route in. Any one of them works, pick whichever you like.
From the menu, works everywhere
Browser menu (⋮, top right) → More tools → Developer tools. On Opera it sits under Developer.
By right-clicking the page
Right-click anywhere on ome.tv, choose Inspect, then click the Console tab along the top of the panel.
With a keyboard shortcut
Windows and Linux: F12, or Ctrl+Shift+J to land on the Console directly. Mac: Cmd+Option+J.
F12 doing nothing is not a broken computer
On a lot of laptops the F keys are volume and brightness first, so F12 needs the Fn key held down with it. On a Mac it does nothing at all. Use the menu route instead, it behaves the same on every machine.
Two words this page could not avoid
Open either one if you want to know what you just switched on.
What the developer console is
Every browser has a panel built into it for the people who make websites. One part of that panel is a box you can type into, and whatever you put there runs on the page in front of you. Nothing is installed and nothing is saved: close the tab and it is gone. That is why the script has to be pasted again after every reload.
What Developer mode is
A switch on your browser's own extensions page. Normally a browser only accepts extensions from its store; the switch lets it also accept one from a folder on your computer, which is how ours is installed. It changes nothing else about your browser and you can switch it off again afterwards without losing the extension.
Why the extension is not in the Chrome Web Store
It is not listed there, so it installs from a folder instead. That is the reason for the Developer mode step, and it is the only unusual part of the whole setup.
How to tell it worked
A panel appears over the video
Within a few seconds of loading ome.tv you get a small panel in the corner. That is the overlay.
Data fills in on a connection
The moment somebody connects, country, city and internet provider appear. You do not press anything.
A counter goes down
On a free account the panel shows how many lookups you have left today. Seeing it move is proof the whole chain works.
Nothing appeared?
Do not regenerate anything yet. Troubleshooting is sorted by what you are seeing on screen, and the first three checks solve most cases in under a minute.
