Search for an Ome.tv mod and you get APK mirrors promising free VIP, unlimited gender filter and no bans. None of them are made by Ome.tv, none of them can deliver what they advertise, and installing one is a genuinely bad idea. That is the short version. The longer version is more useful, because the thing people actually want from a mod is real and there is a legitimate way to get most of it.
What people mean by an Ome.tv mod
Nobody searches for a mod in the abstract. In practice the query stands in for one of four wishes, and separating them is the fastest way to a real answer:
- Filters the platform does not give away. Country, gender, connection type. This is the most common one by a distance.
- Skipping faster and skipping less. Fewer bots, fewer recorded loops, fewer connections that were never going to go anywhere.
- Getting past a ban. A different problem entirely, and one no mod solves. It is covered in why you were banned and how to actually clear one.
- Free VIP. Meaning the paid features of the platform itself, without paying.
Three of those four are about controlling who you get matched with. That is worth holding on to, because it is the one a browser extension can genuinely answer.
Why the modded APKs are not the answer
A modded APK is the official Android app taken apart, edited and repackaged by somebody you have never heard of. That is the definition, not an accusation, and it leads to three problems that hold regardless of who did the repackaging.
- The features it promises are decided on the server, not in the app. Whether you are allowed to filter by country, and whether your account counts as VIP, is checked by Ome.tv when the app asks. Editing the app cannot change the answer. A mod menu that shows every filter unlocked is showing you a menu, and the server still says no.
- It has to be signed by whoever built it. An edited APK cannot carry the original signature, so your phone treats it as a completely different app from an unknown developer, with whatever permissions its author asked for. You are not patching Ome.tv. You are installing something else that looks like it.
- It is a very well-worn distribution route for malware. "Free premium version of a popular app, sideload this file" is one of the oldest deliveries there is, and video chat apps are a good target precisely because camera and microphone permission is expected rather than suspicious.
What actually changes how Ome.tv behaves
The part of the experience that can be changed from your side is what your own browser does with a connection once it opens. That is not a modification of Ome.tv. It is a layer on top of it, running in your browser, on your machine, using information the connection already hands you.
This is what OME.UNDFND is: a browser extension that reads the connection as it opens and shows you the country, city, network operator and VPN status of the person on the other end, then optionally acts on it. This is not a userscript. It does not use Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey or Greasemonkey, and it is not the Greasyfork script of a similar name. It is a Manifest V3 browser extension that you load as an unpacked folder, on a desktop browser.
- See where a connection comes from before you decide anything, which is the filter people are really asking for. Details in what the overlay shows.
- Skip automatically on the connections that fail your own rules, so the filtering is not something you do by hand every ten seconds.
- Set a country preference of your own rather than waiting for one to be sold to you. The mechanics are in the Ome.tv country filter post.
- Catch bots and recorded loops, which are a meaningful share of what a fast skipper is skipping past anyway.
What it does not do, and will not pretend to do, is change anything on Ome.tv’s side. It cannot give you their VIP, it cannot lift a ban, and it cannot make the platform match you differently. It changes what you know and what your browser does about it.
The part that will disappoint you
Most people searching for a mod are on a phone, and this is a desktop tool. Requires a desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi. Not compatible with Firefox, Safari, iOS, Android, any phone or tablet browser. The Ome.tv phone apps are not browsers, so nothing installed in a browser reaches them, and mobile browsers do not run extensions in any way that would help.
That is a real limitation and worth saying before you spend time on it rather than after. If you are on a phone and there is no computer in the picture, there is nothing here for you yet, and there is nothing safe on an APK mirror either.
The bottom line
There is no Ome.tv mod worth installing, because the features a mod claims to unlock are not stored in the app. What is real is the layer you can run in your own browser: it does not modify the platform, it just stops you going in blind. That is a smaller promise than the APK listings make, and it is the one that survives contact with how the site actually works.
